No space or time to pray? How do I help my child discover prayer, whilst also finding nurture myself? Play & Pray is a way to help very young children and parents become aware of God together in ordinary yet creative ways.

God knows that small children can be hard work, and is happy to be there in the midst of it, loving you both and helping you get through it.  Play & Pray grew out of a desire to help reframe prayer, bringing God into the middle of the muddle, without the need to ‘find time to pray’. It is based on ways of praying that we ourselves learnt and received on Christian spirituality courses for adults, based on the Ignatian Tradition. With energy and imagination, we have found these very adaptable for a young age group.

Play & Pray materials were developed for a six-week, non-denominational, interactive series for babies, pre-schoolers and their carers which runs regularly in and near Edinburgh, Scotland. Here we make our ideas available to encourage others to have a go at running a course or to use the materials at home.
